Mermaid Tails/Skins and Monofins:Due to the risks associated come with mermaid tails/skins Little Fins will not provide the mermaid tail/skin fabric. Little Fins will have monofins for swimmers to borrow, if you don't have your own. If you would like to bring your own mermaid tail/skin fabric you are welcome to do so. We will teach our mermaids safety techniques when using tails/skins.
If purchasing your own mermaid tail and/or monofin please be aware of the risks involved. Mermaid tail fabrics can be dangerous if they are not used properly or are ill fitted. For more information on mermaid tail fabrics please talk to a Little Fins Mermaid Instructor.
Swimming Skills Required:
Participants must have passed the first 3 swim levels at Little Fins or be at least 8 years of age.
Swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool on the surface, and be comfortable swimming underwater in both the shallow end and deep end. If you are unsure if your swimmer qualifies for the program, please contact Little Fins to set up a free trial lesson with a Mermaid Instructor, where we will do a quick assessment to determine if your swimmer can participate, or if they may need lessons first to be able to qualify.

If a student is withdrawn from Summer Mermaid Camp after March 1st, no refund is given. However, if Little Fins is able to fill your spot with another student, then Little Fins will refund the tuition less the $100 deposit.

DROP OFF & PICKUP
Camp sessions are held Monday to Friday. We ask that you arrive with your camper no earlier than 15 minutes before the start of camp.
To reduce the number of people in and out of the building, we will check-in your child at the lobby to the pool. Please park your car and then walk your child into the lobby. Our amazing staff will check your mermaid in.
For the safety of our campers, your child will not be released to anyone other than the persons listed on your registration list, so please ensure that anyone authorized to pick up your child from camp is included. If we do not recognize the person picking up your child, we will ask to see their I.D. A child will not be released to anyone outside of this list or without proper identification. Please communicate with your camper’s instructors if there will be someone different picking them up on select days or during emergency situations. We thank you in advance for helping us protect your child.
Campers will wait inside the lobby with their teachers until camp staff release them to their grown-ups.
To schedule early pick-up, please text or call our admin at 719-344-5328 for same day changes. Pick-up procedures still apply.

- Goggles - not mandatory, but many mermaids prefer to have goggles when practicing in the pool. Due to Little Fins goggle policy, we do not have goggles available to share, but you can purchase goggles if needed.
- Monofin and/or tail - not mandatory, but you if you have your own that you would like to learn to use, we recommend bringing them to camp. We will have monofins available to borrow, but the mermaids may have to share, depending on availability.

CAMPER CONDUCT
Mermaid Camps are intended to be full of fun and active participation, but disruptive behaviors can deter from the learning process and progress of all of our swimmers. Disruptive behaviors will be addressed in the following ways:
1) Disruptive behavior will be redirected by the teacher, followed by a warning and/or timeout.
2) Chronic disruptive behavior will be documented and the student will be asked to leave the pool or classroom area if there is any cause of a safety issue.
3) Extreme disciplinary problems including fighting, bullying, vandalism, verbal abuse, or other disruptive behavior may result in expulsion.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS
Staff will note any medical conditions, allergies, or special needs (ADA accommodations, recent injuries, behavioral issues and strategies [ADD, ADHD, ASD, separation anxiety, etc.]) listed in the medical section of your Emergency Form.
These notes will be shared privately with all teachers. Open communication with families helps us create a successful environment for every camper.
We ask that prescriptions be administered to the camper before they arrive. If a child requires any medication in a non-emergency situation during camp, an authorized parent/guardian must come to camp to administer.
